Privacy Policy

General Insurance Agents’ Federation Integrated (GIAFI) — Membership Portal

Last updated: September 15, 2026

GIAFI respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the information you provide while using the GIAFI Membership Portal. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used and protected, and how you can contact us about it.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on your membership application, we may collect information such as your name, father's name, date of birth, blood group, address, city, state, PIN code, mobile number, alternate mobile number, email address, PAN, professional or agency details (qualification, region, insurer affiliations and agency codes), membership plan, referral reference (if provided), an optional member photograph, and payment-related transaction information.

2. How We Use Information

Information is used to process and verify membership applications, communicate with applicants, maintain membership records, process payments, issue receipts and the digital membership card, provide membership services, prevent fraud, and meet applicable legal or regulatory requirements.

3. Payment Information

Payments are processed through the selected payment gateway (PhonePe Business). GIAFI does not intend to store complete card numbers, UPI PINs, banking passwords, or other authentication credentials used to authorize a payment. Payment transaction details such as the transaction reference, order reference, amount, status, payment method and date may be retained for reconciliation and record-keeping, and a payment receipt is generated for successful payments.

4. Cookies and Browser Storage

The portal does not use advertising or profiling cookies. Limited browser storage may be used to keep the membership application flow working (for example, remembering the current step of your application, or keeping an administrative session for authorised staff). This is functional only and is not used to track you across other websites.

When you are redirected to the payment gateway to complete a payment, the gateway's own website may set its own cookies; those are governed by the payment provider's privacy policy and not by GIAFI.

5. Sharing of Information

Information may be shared with payment service providers (to process your payment and confirm its status), technology or service providers who help operate the portal, professional or regulatory authorities where required, or other parties where reasonably necessary to provide the requested service, process a transaction, verify information, prevent fraud, or comply with applicable law. GIAFI does not sell your personal information.

6. How Information Is Protected and Stored

Information and membership records are stored in a controlled database, accessible to authorised GIAFI personnel through the portal's backend. Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction — including restricting portal administration to authenticated users and generating documents such as receipts within the portal. However, no internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. Data Retention

Information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for membership administration, transaction reconciliation, legal, regulatory, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes.

8. Your Rights (Access and Correction)

You may contact GIAFI to request clarification regarding personal information held by the membership portal, or to request correction of inaccurate information, subject to applicable legal and operational requirements. You may also write to us to update your contact details.
